Brady Wolken
Volunteer and Partnership Liasion
Brady Wolken is the Volunteer and Partnership Liaison at the Kansas Forest Service. In this role he will work to maintain current partnerships and create new partnerships with the Kansas Forest Service. He will also lead the yearly Kansas Arbor Day 5th grade poster contest. Brady will work with the Kansas Forest Services District Foresters to monitor and evaluate community forestry projects. Lastly Brady will serve as a member of the Kansas Association of Conservation and Environmental Education board as the Kansas Forest Service's non-voting member.
Brady has his Master's of Horticulture and Natural Resources from Kansas State University. During his Masters, Brady led 3 research projects. The first was a visitor use study at Manassas National Battlefield Park with the National Park Service. The second was an environmental education landscape analysis with the Kansas Association of Conservation and Environmental Education. The third project inquired if environmental education is accessible for individuals that are d/Deaf and hard of hearing.
Brady also has a bachelor's degree from Kansas State University in the Park Management and Conservation program and a secondary major in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences. While attending Kansas State University Brady discovered his passion for natural resources and the importance of ensuring that he does his part to help make the outdoors accessible to all that wish to enjoy it responsibly.
Brady wishes to continue the work the Kansas Forest Service is doing to ensure service to all Kansans. This includes community forestry needs, increasing forestry education, and maintain and create new partnerships!
